My people, allow me to share an important update on the meat samples we tested now that we got most of results for sodium nitrite.

When some results showed signs of treatment with sodium nitrite, I took a personal step to protect the public.

We reached out to the health and food-safety departments in Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos, and Kiambu counties, and submitted preliminary reports as we compile the full dossier. We are even submitting more and have talked to several officials on this .

We alerted them to the rising concern of butcheries treating meat with sodium nitrite/nitrate. Several officials have already responded positively, and some have even begun internal investigations.

This is exactly what we hoped for when we started this project.

Food safety is a devolved function; counties are the frontline implementers. If they follow up, test widely and stop unsafe practices, then all of us win, including those who doubted, criticized, or misunderstood the journey when we started raising funds.

We are also finalizing the milk report, which will be shared with the Ministry of Health, etc, alongside the larger findings.

My people, this work is about one thing: protecting families. If we test food, find risks, alert the authorities, and they act, then we have played our part in safeguarding millions.
