Linus Torvalds has made his stance on AI pretty clear: the Linux kernel isn’t against AI.

During a discussion on the Linux kernel mailing list, Torvalds said developers are free to use AI if it helps them. In his view, AI is just another tool, and what really matters is the quality of the work.

> “Linux is not one of those anti-AI projects, and if somebody has issues with that, they can do the open-source thing and fork it. Or just walk away.”

He also said AI has already proved its value:

> “It may not have been that ‘clearly’ even just a year ago, but it’s no longer in question today.”

Torvalds also pushed back against people trying to stop others from using AI:

I mean, it is still terrible. In a long fight, having accidentally press Iroi's skill for too long and you immediately locked yourself to her.

You need to be able to cancel that Regression.

I think I'll skip her banner. I don't even use her anymore in 999 Nights.

I've had a lot of people asking me why they suddenly can't switch characters when using Iroi, so here's the answer.

🐑 Why does it happen?

You're accidentally holding Iroi's Skill instead of tapping it.

Holding her Skill activates Regression, turning your 3 teammates into sheep. Once this happens, you can't freely switch back to them until combat ends. You can only temporarily bring them back during Iroi's Ultimate, then they'll become sheep again.

✅ How to avoid it

Simply tap Iroi's Skill instead of holding it.

The tap version lets you keep your normal team rotation without activating Regression.

So if you're wondering why your team suddenly became sheep, chances are you accidentally held the Skill.

Redemption arc CAN be done well, but only if the writers commit to it. Not half-assed it or even ignore all the bad stuff the character did so far.

This is exactly the kind of mindset that has hurt this genre.

Some developers end up twisting the entire story just to turn a villain into a good person so they can make them playable. We've seen that happen in Genshin and several other games.

I'd much rather they stick to their original story and let villains stay villains, even if they're playable.

Hot take: The trope of "the bad guy is actually a good guy" is overused in gachas, even in BA.

It's okay to make actually evil villain, unreasonable so it needs to be taken down.

That's how you achieve catharsis.
