There is a staff comment from Character Modeling Director Saeki about Tifa’s design that Nomura had the team revise her design through trial and error to get it perfect. Her hair has an ash tint, which was chosen from over 20 different colors patterns!

Roberto Ferrari also notes that the kimono dress was the one that he spent the most time drawing designs for, and he had over 10 different designs. He says it's a miracle that he was finally able to have it take form.

In the ending scene between Sephiroth & Cloud, the background in the sky is supposed to resemble Sephiroth's wing. Although it is beautiful, it isn't exactly a positive presence.
