I actually agree with this to some extent. If Mokyeon were a real person, I would absolutely recommend therapy for him because he clearly has his own trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms. But within the story, I don’t think he’s portrayed as someone who is fundamentally incapable of functioning without Nanjo. When Nanjo isn’t involved, Mokyeon generally behaves normally — he has his quirks and emotional issues, of course, but he can still live his life, interact with people and make decisions on his own. 🙂‍↕️

His anxiety and emotional dependence on Nanjo are definitely concerning, but I don’t think we’ve seen enough to say that his situation has reached the point where he needs professional intervention right now. His problems become much more intense specifically because of Nanjo and everything surrounding their relationship. So yes, therapy would probably be beneficial for him in real life, but within the context of the story, I don’t think the answer is simply “Mokyeon needs therapy, not Nanjo.” Nanjo is clearly the first door through which Mokyeon needs to confront something much deeper. 🫶🏼🩵
