This morning, I had the honour of formally assuming duty as the Minister for Defence.

I was warmly received by the management and staff of the Ministry, led by the Chief Director, Mr Emmanuel Kartey, alongside the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, and the Service Chiefs.

I am deeply grateful for the warm reception and the confidence reposed in me by H.E John Dramani Mahama. I look forward to working closely with the leadership, officers, men and women of the Ministry and the Ghana Armed Forces to advance our national security and defence interests.

I am humbled by the responsibility and committed to serving Ghana with dedication, integrity and purpose.
