@markmc1406 HSBC do Sterling accounts for non UK residents - as long s they are EU residents. I'm working through the application process at the moment. Its not a quick solution but may be the most sustainable

I can understand the challenge digital banks provide #footballindex from a money laundering/fraud perspective

However this broad brushstroke to cut out Revolut as a deposit option shafts many (the majority?) of Irish customers

@FootballIndexIE @Sky_Kangaroo Mail support. They were able to add a note to my account as this was beyond my control where my new card (whenever I figure out what it is) will be my card for all withdrawals.

They might be willing to do the same for you if you can sort out the BOI NI account

@luky_luke_bir @davidtmurphy @FootballIndexCS Interesting. Any idea why Monese is ok but not Revolut? Fundamentally they look near identical. Both are fintech. Neither have UK banking license. Seems more in the semantics to me where Revolut offer a “Revolut account” while Monese offer a “bank account”.

@Sky_Kangaroo @FootballIndexIE Have been pretty busy of late but gonna try NI banks. Rumoured that previously you could open and account with an Ulster Bank or similar in Belfast without visiting in person but not sure if that’s happening anymore. I still have Revolut hooked up for withdrawals for time being

@FPLKangaroo @luky_luke_bir @davidtmurphy Yeah Irish banks have been largely unhelpful. A few people have suggested I try NI banks who will open GBP accounts over the phone apparently. Will give it a shot when I find a moment. Very unfortunate with the dep bonus there that half of it will be eaten up in FX charges

Further update... FI have confirmed to be because this issue is beyond my control when I upload a new card ALL future withdrawals will go to it. They've noted this on my account.

Doesn't solve the "who is the alternate to Revolut for IE users issue" but its something.

Would allow to despoit and withdrawn with FI in GBP (i believe). Can then move GBP to Revolut, convert to EURO and withdraw to separate EUR account. All this in theory of course.

Still no joy with banks. Getting a call back from them is slower than glacial erosion!
