@plectrumxr I was working on a club scene with static background character models, so I added a simple wind displacement into their materials. Worked a treat. Might be a cheap way to emulate that subtle "everyone shifting in unison" look that crowded trains have without a ton of animation.
@MarcusWassmer@TimSweeneyEpic I've been really impressed with the 5.8 preview. I'm used to the previews being very prone to crashing (which is to be expected), but I think I've had maybe 3 crashes in 20 hours of messing with it. And I'm seeing a big performance jump even from 5.7. Good stuff!
@theericjacobus Silliness! Color! I'd rather watch an obvious dummy in a hot pink track suit getting thrown from a high place than watch a sad man shoot guys dressed in black in a dimly lit grey warehouse.
@iBrews So you've never wanted to have a master bath with two garden tubs but no toilet? Or a staircase that leads to the same level you're already on?
@theericjacobus This is one of my all time favorite fights in film. The bright environment, contrasting costumes, and clean camera work come together so the audience can still see exactly what's happening and follow the action, despite the fact that they are going so fast. So good.
@theericjacobus It feels like the Terminator films after 2 were missing the boat by trying to make a scarier Terminator. The T-1000 was already nigh unstoppable. Facing another one in different circumstances is all they needed to do. The hybrids always felt goofy.
@benz145@MicrosoftEdge It feels like Microsoft stopped caring about doing a good job after Windows 7. Every decision since then seems driven exclusively but what makes them the most money, with zero consideration for their customers. They have effectively burned through 50 years of good will.
