Customers have every right to speak up when they receive poor service, and instead of normalizing mediocrity or defending it, we should encourage accountability because that’s how businesses grow and earn loyal customers.
We’ve become so used to poor service that whenever someone points it out, they’re immediately labeled a hater. Since when did expecting good customer service become a bad thing huh? Constructive criticism isn’t an attack at all, it’s feedback that helps businesses improve.
We showed up and kept the industry going. Now that international tourists are back in full swing, some of those prices have gone so high that the same locals who helped keep the lights on can only admire the lodges from Facebook photos and videos.
It’s funny how during the COVID pandemic, our local lodges suddenly discovered that Namibians existed, lol. We were getting special rates, special packages, and heartfelt messages about supporting local tourism.
