The CBS Board held its Ordinary Meeting on 24 January 2026 and endorsed key resolutions to strengthen financial-sector oversight. Among them, the Board approved four (4) license applications for Takaful (insurance) operators, bringing this critical sector under CBS supervision, six (6) license applications for non-deposit-taking microfinance institutions, and renewed the license of one (1) money transfer business.

Jamal Osman, Ahmed Mumin, Guled Wiliq, Rashid Abdi, Sahan Group, and a wave of newly created accounts are subtly pushing Al-Shabaab’s propaganda.

These actors are mere tools of foreign powers that do not want stability in Somalia. They are now threatening President Hassan Sheikh with the prospect of Al-Shabaab entering Mogadishu—an attempt to intimidate him because he refuses to follow their foreign-backed agenda and instead pursues an independent policy.

But these names are just pawns. The real question is: Who is pulling the strings?

These foreign powers are using their proxies to send a message to Hassan Sheikh, but Somalis must see through this game and stand firmly behind their president.
