โThatโs such a boring answer.โ Her cheeks were back to that faint shad of pink, but she hadnโt confirmed or denied it.
โI do think heโs changed, you know? Butโฆ I donโt know.โ
โYou know, I was going to tell you, but now I really want to hear your guess.โ
Sheโll tell him either way, of course. But the walk down to the Great Hall will be more entertaining this way.
She flicks her wand, clearing the doodles off of her charms notes so she can leave them without worrying. Then she stands to follow him.
โMaybe I will. We all deserve to be happy, right?โ
She tried her hardest not to blush, butโฆ her cheeks were definitely turning pink. โItโsโฆ more complicated than that.โ
She elbowed him gently in the arm, smiling slightly. โShall we head down for breakfast?โ
"It's nice to meet you, Zahra. I'm Lily." She offered a slightly shaky smile, still getting over the shock of seeing the genie.
"Er... yes, please. What are the rules?"
She really wasn't sure what she'd wish for. Rules would help.
โCall me Zahra.โ She bowed respectfully.
โWelcome to the genie magic. Where you are granted three wishes. But when genies have rules, would you like to hear them?โ
She might not be able to tell. But Z was ecstatic to be out of the lamp and with a person!
She blinked in surprise, nearly dropping the lamp. She managed to hold onto it, though she knew she must look ridiculous with her wide eyes.
"You're... oh."
Of course... a genie lamp. It made sense, in a way.
Lily rubs at the smudges on the gleaming surface of the lamp, frowning slightly.
She's not sure where it came from, but it would be beautiful with a proper polishing charm.
She glanced back at the doodles, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. "You could say that."
She'd tell him, eventually. She didn't like to keep secrets from him- though it wasn't exactly a secret. Just something she was considering.
"I... slept a little." An hour or two.
"Good morning." She offered him a small smile, laying her quill down on top of the parchment.
She sat back on the couch, pressing their shoulders together for a few seconds before giving him space. "Did you sleep at all?"
@selenoisms a bit more intense. It left her speechless for a few seconds, and she accidentally held his hands just a bit too tightly. She loosened her hold as soon as she noticed.
"You never fail to surprise me, Remus Lupin. In all the best ways."
Lily dropped onto the couch in the common room beside @selenoisms, huffing in exasperation. Her arms were crossed in annoyance.
โWhy are your friends such utter morons, Remus? How do you stand being the only normal one?โ
@selenoisms she'd ever been given.
She was touched, and that warm feeling that had been building in her chest was a becoming a bit overwhelming. It was happiness, affection... the same things she used to feel when she spent time with Severus, before he showed his true colors, only maybe +
โIโve already read it once, itโs okay. I loved it.โ
Sheโd been planning to read it again, but it could certainly wait. There were other, newer books.
@selenoisms even more so. You put up with so much. I donโt know how you have so much patience.โ
If she thought it wouldnโt overwhelm him, sheโd cross the distance to hug him. โHogwarts wouldnโt be the same without you, I think.โ
@selenoisms words back any longer. Everyone deserved genuine compliments.
โI wouldnโt joke about something like that, Remus. I try not to say things that I donโt mean, you know. Youโre one of my favorite people in this castle. I mean it when I say that youโre just as kind as I am- maybe +
