Text Fight4Rx at 52886 to say NO to PBM abuses!
#Fight4Rx#PBMFact
Tell Congress to pass meaningful #PBM reform measures to address cost and access of prescription drugs. With numerous bills advancing through the legislative process, Congress must not miss this opportunity hold #PBMs accountable. https://t.co/v7rGyLFTuD
Pharmacies can also post this flyer in a prominent location, such as an entrance or the pharmacy counter, to facilitate patient engagement. https://t.co/GFCq4mBAAa
PBM reform to address the cost and access of prescription medications is receiving overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress as H.R. 5378, the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act passed the House of Representatives on a 320-71 vote.
@ftc retracted letters that supported abusive practices of PBMs, & letters were ripped in in PCMAs face as a PCMA lobbyist claimed the independent pharmacy industry is stable. PCMAs claim is used as a deflection of PBMs abuse that's destroying USA's med access @RepEricBurlison
We applaud the Energy and Commerce Committee for supporting enhanced #PBM transparency by unanimously advancing the PATIENT Act to the House floor. Lawmakers have been focused on addressing #PBM abuses which adversely impact patients, taxpayers and community pharmacies.
Thank you @RepJamesComer holding this hearing to investigate the role #PBMs play in rising drug costs and the harm they cause to both patients and pharmacies.
“Dr. Atkins, as an oncologist, do you think a patient is more likely to be able to take a drug to treat their cancer if it’s $72 or $17,000?”
“$72 for sure”
@RepJamesComer highlights how the marked-up drug prices by PBMs are harming patients.
Why do prescriptions cost so much? Part of the reason lies with middle men known as pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). Today, we pulled back the curtain on these little-known companies -- and made the case for Medicare for All to reduce drug costs for everyone.
Vitamins at the pharmacy will cost exactly what’s advertised on the shelf. For prescriptions, it’s near impossible to tell what you’ll be charged. Patients will even get charged different prices for the same exact drug—because Big Insurance profits off a lack of transparency.
Thank you @CongressmanRaja for highlighting the need for #PBM transparency and reform to rein in practices that are forcing many independent pharmacies to close
Since 2010, 15% of independent pharmacies have closed. A major reason is Pharmacy Benefit Managers' high DIR fees, which can cause pharmacies to lose $ selling prescriptions.
We must eliminate these fees to protect independent pharmacies & reduce costs. @OversightDems
Today, Congress took a huge step towards shining a light on the pharmaceutical industry’s shadowy middlemen. Thank you to @GOPoversight for allowing me to speak at this important hearing.
Text Fight4Rx to 52886 and urge your legislators to do their part to address #PBM practices that increase patient costs and impede patient access to prescription medications.
New public opinion poll from the PBM Accountability Project shows strong public support for legislative action to rein in #PBM abuses, lower drug costs for patients, and create greater transparency in the prescription drug supply chain. https://t.co/PkkHEl8tq3
A new report demonstrates how #PBM middlemen push higher prescription drug costs onto patients through use of coinsurance and deductibles. In fact, the data shows patients with deductibles and coinsurance pay 6x more at the pharmacy counter per year than those with a flat copay.
Take a stand against these corporate #PBM middlemen and demand policymakers hold them accountable for business practices that put profits over patients by texting Fight4Rx to 52886.
Unfortunately, CVS Health and its #PBM are choosing to pad their bottom line with 43 billion dollars at the expense of patients and payers who are stuck with higher costs and fewer choices. https://t.co/BUrX5n6BbY
