@ElliesWellies @GMB @susannareid100 @MartinSLewis Look at the unit cost per KWH rather than the direct debit amount. Most people will be better off on the variable rate as there are no cheap fixed deals.

My parents fixed with @scottishpower for an extortionate rate, luckily I was able to get them on the variable rate which was a lot cheaper per KWH in the cooling off period.
