Being an American now is just waking up and being told how much more money the president and his billionaire buddies are stealing, then being expected to act like it’s a normal fucking day.
Anyone else notice that when a bill is beneficial to US, it takes hearing after hearing and infinite committee meetings to maybe pass the house
But when it's for Israel or Ukraine, it's passed before any of us even knew there was a bill
Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own
Wow why might the Atlantic be so interested in minimizing the importance those who were found to have close relations with Epstein?
Anyway, here's the Atlantic's owner getting chummy with Ghislaine Maxwell
This memo from the Bureau of Prisons says that Epstein's cell mate Nicholas Tartaglione was found in possession of a cell phone on July 2, 2019, a few days prior to Epstein showing up to Metropolitan Correctional Center.
The call history is redacted.
Epstein arrived to MCC on July 6, 2019.
On July 23, 2019, Epstein was found unresponsive with neck injuries, and when he regained consciousness, he told guards that Tartaglione tried to kill him.
Tartaglione was a former police officer serving 4 life sentences for multiple murders, and he had a hatred of child sex offenders.
Why would Epstein be put in a cell with Tartaglione, unless they were hoping he'd never survive long enough to stand trial? How did Tartaglione get in possession of a cell phone? Who was he talking to prior to Epstein's arrival?
Bondi: Did you talk about Epstein at all the last four years?
Massie: This goes over four administrations. You don't have to go back to Biden. Let's go back to Obama. Let's go back to George Bush. This coverup spans decades, and you are responsible for this portion.
Today marks 16 years since the Supreme Court put a price tag on our democracy with the disastrous Citizens United vs. FEC decision.
The ruling fundamentally changed our campaign finance system by opening the floodgates to unlimited and undisclosed money in our elections.
This week I could save taxpayers $6.9 billion dollars with three amendments I have submitted to cut foreign aid from the spending bill:
one saves $3,300,000,000 from Israel
one saves $2,100,000,000 from Jordan
one saves $1,500,000,000 from Egypt
Cashier: “That'll be $19.94.”
Me: *pulls out a $50 bill*
Casheir: “I’m so sorry, but we've had a problem with counterfeit bills. Do you have anything smaller?”
Me: *pulls out a $25 bill*
BREAKING: 24 Epstein Victims Just sent this letter to Congress.
Only a sick person would try and cover these files up:
"Dear Esteemed Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives,
We write to you as the family of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, and as fellow survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their co-conspirators. You have the ability to vote to release the Epstein files, and with it, deliver a promise the American people have awaited for far too long. We implore you to do so.
Several weeks ago, when a few brave survivors stood before you and recounted their harrowing stories, many of you were shaken to your core. We urge you, when you cast your vote, please do not forget the horror you felt that day.
There is no middle ground here. There is no hiding behind party affiliation. The testimonies you heard are just a fraction of the unimaginable suffering endured by more than a thousand victims alike.
Epstein and Maxwell’s crimes exposed a double standard of justice, where rich and powerful men and women evade repercussions. Despite years of work to bring them to justice, most of Epstein and Maxwell’s co-conspirators remain completely free, continuing to amass power and prestige, living without apparent shame.
As you gather with your family this season, remember that your primary duty is to your constituents. Look into the eyes of your children, your sisters, your mothers, and your aunts. Imagine if they had been preyed upon. Imagine if you yourself were a survivor. What would you want for them? What would you want for yourself? When you vote, we will remember your decision at the ballot box.
This last April, we lost our sister Virginia, a true American hero and a beacon of strength to survivors everywhere. Her resilience in the face of immense adversity—the threats to her life, financial ruin, and public shaming—inspired us all. Her courage brought this case to a monumental turning point, and her testimony exposed the lurid secrets of a global sex trafficking network. In doing so, she brought down a prince, and paved the way for us to come forward and fight. Virginia was failed over and over by the systems that consistently believed and supported her abusers over her. Today, we urge you not to fail another survivor and deny them justice any longer.
Embody Virginia’s courage. Be brave and stand for her, in her absence. Vote YES on the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Vote for justice, accountability, and the truth.
With gratitude, respect, and resilience, from survivors and the family and friends who love them."
So, let me get this straight:
- Direct File let people do their taxes for free.
- It worked and was popular.
- Trump just decided to shut it down, all so companies like TurboTax can keep ripping people off.
Americans deserve better than this mess.
What they didn't investigate was how their own government officials were paid by Epstein.
"For two decades, the U.S. Virgin Islands’ most prominent government and elected officials — as well as their pet charities, educational institutions and causes — were paid millions of dollars by Jeffrey Epstein in the form of salaries, campaign contributions and consultant fees. His most trusted employee was the U.S. territory’s first lady." (Story from 9/2023)
