*"...Eritrea’s geopolitical significance and strategic role is deeply rooted in its geography, history, and the resilience of its people and statehood. From the earliest human migrations and the development of ancient civilizations to the emergence of the modern international system, the territory of present-day Eritrea has occupied an important position at the crossroads of Africa, the Middle East, and the wider world. Its strategic importance, already considerable in antiquity (part of this history is covered in the book ‘Periplus of the Erythraean Sea’), has assumed even greater significance in the modern era...".
*"...For countries such as Eritrea, the central challenge is to safeguard sovereignty and national security while navigating an increasingly contested geopolitical environment. The ability to withstand external pressure and maintain an independent foreign policy is consequently a significant dimension of the country’s regional position".
*"...Against this background, Eritrea’s self-reliant stance; independent foreign policy; resistance to alien/colonial occupation, sanctions and external pressures are important elements in understanding its contemporary geopolitical posture. The country’s political trajectory has been shaped by a determination to defend its sovereignty and preserve its independence under difficult regional and international circumstances".
*"...Eritrea’s contribution to regional stability must therefore be assessed in terms of both its strategic position and its conduct. Its constructive engagement with neighboring countries, solidarity with countries and peoples facing complex nation building challenges, support for peaceful settlement of disputes, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and opposition to destabilizing external interference all contribute to a more secure regional environment".

Sputnik Africa Interview with President Isaias Afwerki
"Respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity are foundational pillars of international law and the global order (past or future)... these are the basis of bilateral and multilateral ties... Partnership cannot conceivably be nurtured when these fundamentals are violated and infringed upon. SOVEREIGNITY IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!"
Sputnik Africa Interview with President Isaias Afwerki
Healthy global order must discard "zero-sum" paradigm for cultivation of meaningful ties of cooperation.

Potemkin Party minions and war mongers seem unduly exhilarated by the purchase of 12 Su-35 jet fighters from Russia.
They believe, in the ominous words of their leaders, that this will indeed enhance the regime's capability for its "pre-emptive" war of aggression; oblivious to the legal and security quagmire that this will entail and the lessons from yesterday's history.
The Potemkin Party has indulged in a massive weapons purchase spree for a long time now as the link below demonstrates.
But massive re-armament will neither advance the PP's declared agenda of regional destabilization nor alleviate the dire sufferings of almost 70% of the Ethiopian population who live under abject poverty, classified as "multidimensionally poor" in accordance with standard economic metrics.
The country is also suffering from mushrooming internal chaos and spiraling strife - the upheaval in Moyale is the latest in the string of entrenched inter-communal conflicts - which stem from a dysfunctional governance architecture.
The Potemkin Party has got all its priorities wrong and, by all accounts, it will neither listen to the voices of reason nor retreat from the perilous path that it has chosen to tread.

ETHIOPIA ― Nearly 50% of Oromos are believed to be Muslims, yet Orthodox Christians continue to face targeted massacres, particularly in Arsi Zone, allegedly at the hands of Muslim extremists.
Jawar Mohammed, once a prominent opposition figure and now an ally of Abiy Ahmed, once made a chilling statement about his predominantly Muslim Oromo region, claiming that 99% of its population are Muslim and there, no one dares to speak out because we will chop their heads off with a machete.
That statement, if accurately quoted and understood in its original context, may offer insight into the conditions that have allowed recurring violence against Orthodox Christians to persist in parts of Oromia.
Under the SFLP TCP, @FAOEritrea & MMR🇪🇷conducted visits to key fisheries facilities, enterprises&community initiatives to assess needs&identify targeted interventions for stronger #Fisheries value chains, enhanced quality standards&more resilient #SustainableLivelihoods.

President Isaias Afwerki arrives in Moscow
President Isaias Afwerki arrived in Moscow this morning to participate in the Third Russia-Africa Summit, which will be held from 28 to 29 October.
The Summit will focus on cooperation in the areas of the economy, investment, trade, energy, food security, agriculture and security.
On the sidelines of the Summit, President Isaias will also meet with President Vladimir Putin to discuss the strengthening of bilateral ties and other matters of mutual importance.
The Presidential delegation includes Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The first Russia-Africa Summit was held in October 2019 in Sochi, while the second Summit was held in Saint Petersburg in July 2023 under the theme “For Peace, Security and Development.”
Abiy Ahmed cannot guarantee the security of the most peaceful sections of his own population, let alone the security of foreign territories that do not fall under his administration.
The killing of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians has become so normalised that it no longer makes headline news and never even appears in the nation’s government-owned media outlets. @_AfricanUnion@US_SrAdvisorAF@antonioguterres@BBCAfrica@StateDept@realDonaldTrump@RealCandaceO
