SC seeks affidavit from UGC. The UGC informed that they were only concerned with final year exams. There r 818 universities in India & out of this 35 have not conducted final year exams. 209 have already completed their exams, while 394 are in the process of conducting the exams.

Supreme Court has issued notice to University Grants Commission, UGC on a batch of pleas challenging its guidelines making completion of final year university exams mandatory by September 30. The court would be hearing the matter again on July 31, 2020
