Look at our sunflowers! Last week we planted seeds and looked at what they would need to grow. We gave them water and covered them in soil and the shoots have started to appear today ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐ป
Toucans enjoyed a trip to the allotment on Friday morning. We checked on the potatoes that we planted in our last visit, they are growing nice. Then we picked onions that Dove Class planted before Christmas!๐ง ๐ฅ
Thank you to everyone that came to our butterfly release this morning. All 33 butterflies successfully released, despite the cool, windy weather, they managed on warm their wings and fly away. Keep an eye out for our Painted Lady butterflies around the green ๐ฆ
Our Eco council met this afternoon to plant wildflower seeds around the school to help increase biodiversity of plants in our school grounds and to encourage more insects including bees and butterflies.
Reception received an exciting delivery this afternoon of tiny caterpillars. We look forward to seeing how they grow over the next few weeks!
The tadpoles have also started to grow legs and are getting bigger by the day.
Reception had a fantastic time at @westlodgefarm on Friday! We were able to pet different animals, bottled fed lambs, went on the barrel ride, watched the piglet race and took a very muddy walk!๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ด๐ท
Our Eco Council have been busy thinking about how we can tackle litter in our school. They made posters to remind everyone to throw their rubbish in the bin and went on a litter pick around the playground. We found lots of plastic wrappers!

Reception had an exciting morning with a visit from @NorthantsPolice. They spoke to the children about how they keep people safe, then the children met PD Bonnie, sat in the police car and printed their fingerprints.
This week, the Infant School had a โCricket Dayโ. We started with an assembly before each class had taster sessions with two professional coaches from @NorthantsCCC ๐
This afternoon the Reception children have been taking part in the RSPB Big School Birdwatch. They spotted lots of birds including sparrows, blue tits, wood pigeons, crows and a red kite.
