The decision by Metrobus to remove this bus shelter from public property further stigmatizes individuals in poverty & experiencing homelessness.
It should be treated as a violation of human rights.
@douglaspawson joins us to discuss all the work being done by @EHSJ709, including a dramatic reduction in shelter stayers who are chronically homeless and other initiatives they're doing in the battle to end homelessness!

I’m desperately concerned for low-income residents in NL.
Rapid rises in energy, food & housing prices coupled with no increase in Income Support rates & a min. wage far below the poverty line will only exacerbate the need for emergency responses that cannot fix broken systems.
This is a pretty important milestone in our community’s effort to end homelessness.
Evidence-informed decision-making allows our community to coordinate a variety of responses to meet the needs of those experiencing homelessness.

Stealing food from shelters only strains already limited resources desperately needed.
Let’s be clear - the swastikas, desecration of national monuments & political dog whistles, we’re seeing are not about ‘freedom’. It’s a racist attempt to undermine democracy & human rights.
