For many young people, the challenge is not only unemployment – it’s navigating fragmented systems and inaccessible opportunities.
Human-centred support still matters.
FinMark Trust, @csda_uj and UCT’s @SALDRU1 will launch new Policy Brief Series soon.
#Youth#PolicyDialogue
#Unemployment is complex. One-size-fits-all approaches are not enough. We need to test different models, learn from evidence & understand what works for different people.
A new 3-part Joint #PolicyBrief Series by FinMark Trust, the @csda_uj & UCT’s @SALDRU1 is coming soon.

We’re seeing real change through the GBL coaching journey.
Participants who started with limited resources are now testing small income-generating activities, supported by coaching & practical problem-solving.
This campaign supports six participants ready to take their next step.
Often, the most important support someone can get is guidance – someone who will listen, encourage & help them navigate challenges while staying focused on their goals.
Our GBL Linkages Facilitators help participants build confidence, develop livelihood ideas & overcome barriers.
Across the GBL pilot, participants are testing livelihood ideas, strengthening small businesses & building confidence through coaching & practical support.
Sustainable livelihoods are built over time - through opportunity, support & persistence.
This is why the campaign matters.
Some moments stay with you. You meet someone with no income or stability, then see how the right support at the right time changes their path.
Today, we launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise R105,000 for participants building their livelihoods.

#10YearAnniversary
The keynote address, delivered by Arif Ismail of the South African Reserve Bank this morning, clearly framed the importance of financial inclusion as an integral development imperative:
“Financial inclusion is about people.”
She has affordable crop insurance, health insurance for her mother, and employs three other women from her community.
This is what inclusion looks like when systems are built that include her: Resilience, choice and peace of mind in everyday life.
Financial inclusion is no longer about only access. It’s evolved and resilience, livelihoods and growth are integral to inclusivity.
This is the focus at #2026SADCFI.
