The Turtles of Isla Damas
For years, the beach of Isla Damas in Costa Rica had been dangerous for nesting sea turtles. Poachers waited in the darkness to steal eggs before they could hatch. Stray dogs dug into nests. Rising tides washed away entire nest. Plastic waste drifted ashore from distant places, tangling hatchlings before they ever reached the sea. Are you ready for an unforgettable week of diving, reef restoration, and helping save baby sea turtles. Giving the Ocean a Chance to heal.
For generations, the ocean has given life to our planet, feeding communities, regulating our climate, and inspiring wonder in all who stand beside it. Yet beneath the surface, coral reefs are fading, sea turtles struggle to nest safely, and sharks disappear from waters they once ruled.
But the ocean is resilient!
In places where fishing pressure has been reduced, marine life has returned. Coral reefs have begun to recover. Sea turtles have nested once again on protected beaches. Whales and sharks have reappeared in waters once thought empty. Nature has shown us an incredible truth: if we give the ocean a chance to heal, it will.
Healing the ocean does not happen overnight. It begins with small acts. What one small act will you?
The ocean has spent centuries taking care of us. Now it is our turn.
The ocean can heal. We simply have to give it the chance.

Right now, the Senate is debating a bill that could undo YEARS of our work to protect oceans from massive, polluting industrial aquaculture operations (also known as factory farms of the sea). Can you tell your Senators to oppose opening our oceans to industrial fish farming today?
The Marine Aquaculture Research for America Act (MARA) seeks to boost aquaculture development by removing necessary regulatory steps for open-ocean fish farms to gain approval. By granting near-immediate approval for commercial-scale aquaculture projects, it could threaten wild fisheries, coastal communities, and the long-term health of our oceans under the guise of research and development.
We must appose this. Post on X with the link provided below.

@hickenlooper and @MichaelBennet please oppose the Marine Aquaculture Research for America Act to protect our oceans! Industrial #aquaculture crams fish into cages that release chemicals, waste, antibiotics + more. This bill would make it easier for these operations to be approved.
January 31 is a day to remember Rob Stewart, his life, his courage, and the legacy he left for the ocean. Rob was not just a filmmaker, he was a force of nature.
He risked everything to expose corruption, confront misinformation, and give a voice to species that cannot speak for themselves.

2026 - The Power of Vision
What do you wish for the planet? Imagine the world not as it is, but as it could be.
Vision is the quiet force that shapes everything we create. It is not just what we hope for, but what we see so clearly that it begins to guide our choices, our energy, and our actions. A strong vision gives direction in moments of uncertainty and purpose when the path forward feels difficult.

As we step into 2026, we carry more than hope—we carry momentum.
Because of you, sharks were tagged, sea turtle nests were protected, and critical ocean habitats moved one step closer to lasting protection. Each data point collected, each hatchling released, and each expedition completed represents a future changed for the better.
In 2026, Fins Attached will expand shark nursery research, strengthen sea turtle conservation efforts, and turn science into action for ocean protection across the Eastern Pacific. Together, we are proving that when science leads, conservation succeeds.
Thank you for standing with us. The work continues—and the ocean needs us now more than ever.

As we close out this year, we want to speak from the heart and say thank you. Thank you for believing in sharks, manta rays, in sea turtles, and in the ocean when the challenges feel overwhelming. Thank you for trusting science, compassion, and collaboration as the path forward. And thank you for standing with us when the ocean needs defenders more than ever.
