@GreensAU2 That awkward moment when it is made apparent that you are so despised you will be voted over.
But as usual, call it racism, sexism, discrimination- instead of recognising it for what it actually is: intense dislike.
Grubs like Faruqi damage legit D & I improvements.
This is Andrew Muller, a Supreme Court judge who recently presided over a case where a 16-year-old migrant met a girl at a house party, isolated her from her friends, and forcefully raped her while she was crying and pleading for him to stop. During the ordeal, he actively blocked the victim from answering her ringing phone to cut off any chance of rescue.
He was arrested, charged and found guilty. Then, this judge who was tasked with sentencing, decided it was appropriate to hand down a fully suspended sentence, allowing the convicted rapist to walk straight out the front doors of the court on a simple good behaviour order. The rationale behind this leniency was that because the teenager had only recently migrated from Bhutan, his short time in the country gave him a "limited insight into societal norms in Australia".
Forget why we're allowing people from cultures where rape is considered a societal norm in the first place... the terrifying precedent this judge has set means that migrants from other countries can now get away with rape simply by claiming they're not yet used to Australian societal norms.
If you think judges should be forced to give mandatory prison sentences without leniency, and that non-citizen offenders including refugees should be immediately deported after their prison term and banned from Australia for life, vote for it.
This season’s hurricane dynamic—an unruffled Atlantic and a frothing Pacific—has been right out of the El Niño playbook, @partlowj reports. https://t.co/8rrViNROnD
@shrewsmorris had a super time at #Oswestry Apple Day today. Fun, lovely people and some top food and drink……and of course ice cream. Always fun on Apple Day. 😊👍🙏
@shrewsmorris@TheGreenParty Australia's Greens segued into all sorts of hypocrisy & have very iffy members & supporters (eg 'independents' that vote with the Greens)
EG the attached trio includes an Afgani citizen (ineligible to be an Australian MP). What they call 'racism' is actually intense dislike!
@agvocate_au@VicFarmers Infuriating.
Victoria's worst blights:
1) animals rights extremists/anthropomorphists/ vegan zealots
2) organic zealots /everything in nature is 100% fine/ chemicals will kill us all ('natural' = 100% harmless. Great, swig on eucalyptus oil)
Summary- hypocrites & denialists
@agvocate_au@VicFarmers Vermin and Noxious Weeds fell prey to the academically indoctrinated bureaucracy of modern politics
The Scotch Thistles north of Melbourne and the Pattersons Curse through NSW is criminal
Yet they spray the rope barriers on the Calder three times a year
👍
Again no funding commitments for ERADICATING deer in SW Vic.
We don't matter.
Predict Vic will dither till Deer strip The Grampians & kill tourists & wreck more farms. Then in 2035 say 'oh shit" & treat them like over-abundant Koalas & feed them contraceptives.
@agvocate_au@Coles Because Australia has too many stupids who have adopted this American consumerist nonsense.. who also don't care at all about the environment.
Oh except for koalas.
@Raiders_24Sep89@DonaMcQueen1 Wrong.
They've targeted the market who spends high on accommodation.... often that's the people who 'can't afford a mortgage' 🤣
Well google now thinks Australia has turned into India (based on current AU based searches).
(I was searching for the Australian Insitute of Marine Science & Google knows I'm just a few km from it right now - nowhere near Delhi or Bhopal 🤦♀️ The answer is $170 million, BTW 🫨)
@paradooprime With channel billed cuckoos recently calling on the wing, plus bush cuckoos - the two most reliable northern Qld rain forecasters- not surprised.
If it doesn't happen, I'll blame these birds (though rain is out of season)
