if you've ever tried to sell anything, you know how obnoxiously people ask if it's available and then never respond. Some of that might be because their first message is being altered without them knowing. So your response doesn't make sense, and they don't wanna deal with you.

I think facebook marketplace automatically changes the first message you send to 'Hi is this available?' without you knowing. I can't tell you how many times I've just asked for the dimensions of an item, and gotten back 'Yes it is, are you interested?' And also, -
