“Obsession” has notched another major box office milestone, clearing $400 million in global ticket sales.
After two months in theaters, the indie horror breakout has grossed a remarkable $403 million, including $245 million domestically and $157 million overseas. The twisted romantic fantasy, directed by YouTuber Curry Barker, was produced for a mere $750,000 and acquired by Focus Features for $14 million at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, so “Obsession” has become a wildly profitable sensation. https://t.co/04uqASfZqu

Zach Cregger on his 'Resident Evil' movie 🧟♂️
“It feels like one gigantic sequence. Things pop off about five minutes in and it basically stays like that until the end. What I love about the games is that you move from set-piece to set-piece. Every location has a unique challenge ... I’m borrowing from the games directly in that rhythm, where you’re just running through a gauntlet"
"The concept here is that we’re following an idiot. Not that he’s stupid, but he’s not your typical game character, with no combat skills whatsoever and completely inept at survival. Bryan is very much an everyman who happens to be burdened with this kind of sacred mission that’s going to take him into the heart of everything. It’s kind of like Frodo going into Mordor"

@AssnaShiteBall I mirror the same sentiment. Unfortunately, its impact wasn’t as felt, even throughout promotion, as Superman. Online criticism, to me, played a partial hand in that, and also, if you ask the right person, it retreats away from its source material.
