The Ford government’s announcement today does next to nothing to address the staffing crisis in our health care system. Bed capacity is useless without people to staff them. They’re willing to give public money to private companies, but refuse to #RepealBill124. #onpoli
So let me get this straight. The Ontario government would rather spend millions on funding private, for-profit agencies to supply hospitals with nurses who are precariously employed…rather than provide ALL nurses with fair wages, permanent jobs, benefits, and work-life balance?
I challenge Premier @fordnation and Health Min. @SylviaJonesMPP to spend a day in the ER observing and talking to patients and healthcare workers. I doubt they’d be able to continue their “everything is A-OK!” rhetoric after that... at least with a straight face. #onpoli
Hey Doug, I hate to bother you when you’re on vacation, but did you know that nearly 1500 Ontarians are hospitalized w/ Covid?
That ERs are overwhelmed?
And that doctors are calling for indoor mask mandates?
Do you care?
Good news for parents across the country: Today, your Canada Child Benefit is going up! That means you’ll have more money – every month – to pay for the things your kids need. And we’ll keep working – every day – to make your life more affordable.
I had a very constructive meeting yesterday with Canada’s provincial and territorial leaders.
Friends, we need a plan from the federal government for more health care funding. #COF2022
Ontario health-care workers sound the alarm over ‘absolutely horrific’ hospital demand
“Hospitals in the GTA that are running at 60 per cent staff and a 300 to 400 per cent capacity.”
Some are calling for a flu/COVID strategy for the Fall.

To get my son a covid test today I have to PAY a private company. I’m fortunate in that I can afford it, but make no mistake: @fordnation is quietly privatizing healthcare in Ontario. Remember that when you vote today. #onpoli
@Volksmarcher@SandraSdhughes@fordnation I have heard this a lot lately from my patients whom I have sent for routine labs in Ontario - things that they never had to pay for before. Out of nowhere! Voters be aware and be warned!
Doug Ford says that the thing he regrets most is not running 4 yrs earlier.
That’s the thing he chooses.
Not the lost school days.
Not the healthcare crisis.
Not the rising costs burdening families.
Not the long term care disaster.
His career. That’s what he chooses.
