Exciting first day in Tokyo with @StopTB and @fujifilmjapan advancing TB diagnostics and exploring innovations to reach TB-affected communities faster, with the generous support from the Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund.
We kicked off day one of project launch meeting in Tokyo with our consortium partners to review progress on an ongoing study evaluating the diagnostic performance of @fujifilmjapan SILVAMP TB LAM II assays in three countries (Cameroon, Vietnam and Nigeria)...
✨ Wrapping Up at #UnionConf2025! 🫁
Our team delivered 11 presentations and connected with hundreds of partners from around the world, sharing innovations from Vietnam in the fight against lung diseases.
Thank you to everyone who joined our sessions and conversations.
Community-wide TB screening has proven population-level impact, but funding gaps remain a major barrier. At #WCLH2025, Luan Vo discussed why building a strong investment case is essential, the innovative financing sources available, and real examples of new funding models.
The Erase TB project in Vietnam achieved a 42.5% increase in TB notifications over 3 years through multi-component ACF and patient-centered care. Lan Nguyen highlighted how engaging public, private, and community health systems can close treatment gaps and strengthen TB response.
Andrew Codlin shared #Start4All findings from Vietnam at #WCLH2025. Pooled #TB testing can cut workloads by up to 60%, yet often misses people with low-grade TB disease. Savings from this testing approach must be reinvested to screen more people.

Dr. Han Nguyen presented an abstract on FujiLAM, a non-invasive urine-based test for TB, at #WCLH2025.
🧪Because it uses urine instead of sputum, FujiLAM could be especially helpful for people who struggle to cough up samples or have HIV-associated TB.
Luan Vo shared early results from the first subnational TB prevalence survey in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, revealing a higher TB burden than previously reported. The study demonstrates that subnational surveys are feasible and critical for monitoring progress toward ending TB.
At #UnionConf2025, Rachel Forse shared new data on the availability of social support for TB-affected people in Viet Nam. The assessment revealed significant provincial disparities, with most support funded by external partners and minimal contributions from provincial budgets.
Global funding for TB remains far below what’s needed – we need innovative, sustainable financing.
At #UnionConf2025, Luan Vo shared how domestic-driven funding models can power long-term investment in TB programs and research – helping the world stay on track to #EndTB.
📷 At #UnionConf2025, Dr. Han Nguyen shared results on PortNAT TB.
Early results suggest that while PortNAT may have potential as a supplementary rapid test in certain settings, substantial refinement is still needed before it can be considered for wider use.
We kicked off #WCLH2025 with Rachel Forse, joining global experts in the Post-Graduate Course on Social Protection Programs for TB-Affected People. Participants explored how such programs have been planned and implemented to advance the goal of universal social protection.
🌍 Our team is ready for #UnionConf2025! 🫁
We’re thrilled to be in Copenhagen for the The Union World Conference on Lung Health!
