@Steve_Sailer The Polo Grounds also had bizarre dimensions, 279 down LF line and 258 down RF. That was offset by the cavernous centerfield which was 483 feet, which allowed for the famous Willie Mays catch in '54 WS and etched the name of the more than serviceable Vic Wertz into baseball lore.
@Steve_Sailer The dimensions of the LA Coliseum would probably have benefited the right handed hitting Campy much more so than than they did lefty Duke Snider. Snider hit 40+ HRs in each of his last 5 years at Ebbets Field, but only 15 in his first year at Coliseum.
@Steve_Sailer And if he had been able to add to those totals in LA, but a tragic car accident in January of '58 prevented him from ever being a Los Angeles Dodger.
@Steve_Sailer Every 3 time+ MVP debuted at a younger age than Judge with the exception of Campanella, who debuted a year after Jackie Robinson. Branch Rickey supposedly considered the biracial Campy( Italian last name) as the man to break color line, but went with the undeniably black Robinson
@BackAftaThis Never enjoyed a series more than this? The winning margins were 7, 9, 15, 21, 14, 27, and 8. Not one proverbial "classic" game in the series or a single game that went down to the wire.
@DavidFurones_ Against the 6? Who else could they have played 1st round as the 3? Against the 7? Celtics blew a 3-1 lead vs 6ers and wouldn't have beat them. Against the 4? Even if Pistons had beat Cavs, NYK would be favored without home court. Knicks are winning by historic margins. Lazy take
