@america False - Australia does NOT have voter ID requirements on polling day. The rationale is to maximise the voter turnout. There is virtually no fraud.

‘From political leaders to average citizens, the choices and actions that people make within a democracy are instrumental to either its erosion or its safeguarding.’ Lets be on the side of safeguarding!
NEW RESEARCH: A special interactive tool, created by @arcanakhalil and her co-authors, maps how different drivers of democratic erosion interact, reinforce one another, and create feedback loops that accelerate decline.

Australia and 27 countries have an urgent message: the war in Gaza must end now.
The humanitarian situation is catastrophic. Together with partners, we condemn Israel’s denial of aid and the killing of civilians seeking to access water and food.

War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal. No armed victory can compensate for the pain of mothers, the fear of children, or stolen futures. May diplomacy silence the weapons! May nations chart their futures with works of peace, not with violence and bloodstained conflicts!
Thanks @SenatorWong: justice demands full and immediate resumption of aid into Gaza and allowing UN and others to do their job, a ceasefire and hostage deal, and, as the UK, France and Canada have called for, an end to Israel's "egregious" military operations. #Gaza
Australia is part of the international call on Israel to allow the full and immediate resumption of aid into Gaza.
Israel must enable UN and humanitarian organisations to do their life saving work.
We urge all parties to return to a ceasefire and hostage deal.

@SenatorWong Good, as far as it goes. But 1% of budget is a target that would better meet the pressing needs of our region and our own national interests. #micah@ACFID
‘A Jerusalem Voice for Justice’ reaches out to the people of Gaza and the West Bank: ‘We seek to make your cries heard in a world which needs to be shaken out of its complacency.’ @SenatorWong @PeterDutton_MP @Mon4Kooyong https://t.co/1uUbH3s2wx
Civilians are still suffering and dying in Gaza. DAys ago France, Germany and the UK called on Israel to restore water and electricity, and ensure access to medical care. @SenatorWong supported this. The cries of the people must not be ignored.
The #DeathPenalty is always inadmissible, because it attacks the inviolability and dignity of the person. I appeal for its abolition in all countries of the world. We must not forget that a person can repent and change, even up until the very last moment of their life.
Good news that UK to scrap their plan to deport refugees to Rwanda. Surely it’s time for an Australian Labor government to review its offshoring policy @AlboMP@andrewjgiles@ClareONeilMP
Notwithstanding the heinous attacks on Israeli citizens, the Israeli Government must heed the cries of the oppressed for a ceasefire and access for assistance in Gaza. The release of all hostages and the resumption of UNWRA funding also remain pressing @CaritasAust@SenatorWong
