@Super70sSports I’m enjoying your posts but we didn’t swear like that in the 70s so don’t ruin the ‘atmosphere’.

@ridethepastlane Gale was great in ‘The Bluebird’ with Shirley Temple.

[PlantSpirit @Five_Branches]

@ClassicMovieHub He was very good in ‘The Homecoming” the Waltons Christmas Special. Also excellent in that was Patricia Neal. It’s on YouTube.

@ATRightMovies Sometimes overlooked:
Dead End with Joel McRae, Sylvia Sydney, and the Bowery boys.

@FunMovieTVFan Heddy Lamar, Goldie Hawn, Jean Harlow, Harry Davenport, Henry Travers, Hugh Herbert, Harry Carey (& Jr too) and the grand Dame of theater and film, Helen Hayes!
So do I get a cookie for all this brain work or what? 😆

@ClassicMovieHub When he was dancing on film, it was graceful, but I could never get past my personal perspective that he was a heavy with light feet. I did love that signature coin toss.

@larwoolf Let’s not forget her role as a princess in the original Pink Panther film. The scene with her and David Niven on the tiger rug is priceless.

@CalltoActivism All the Jimmy Kimmel monologue clips here on X have had the playback sped up. I’m glad I got to see it in normal speed on YouTube. I don’t see anyone else mentioning this. I don’t see a way to change it either. 🤔

@zepppo666 @Noirchick1 Let’s hear it for the numerous great character actresses! In the images in this post, I can identify Thelma Ritter, Spring Byington and Jane Darwell, but not the 4th actress. I know she was Irish and may have played a part in The Fighting Sullivans & in How Green was my Valley.

@Noirchick1 For that American Everyman Quality, both Stewart & Fonda. For versatility, Cary Grant, for slapstick comedy & pathos. For he-man physicality, Kirk Douglas & Burt Lancaster. For effectively playing either a villain or a tender soul, Edward G Robinson.

@thinman_2001 @Noirchick1 I’ve read many interviews with actors from Tracey’s era and they all said he inspired them with his honesty in his approach to acting.

[PlantSpirit @Five_Branches]

@Noirchick1 They were all great in their own way and in their own time. I’d like to add John Garfield to the list. 🎬

[PlantSpirit @Five_Branches]

@GAltringham OMG, absolutely not his best. The strain of daily script changes showed clearly in that performance .
Check out Bogie in The Treasure of Sierra Madre as one of his best roles.

@OliLondonTV Based solely on this clip, hiring a choreographer and a costumer would have been money well spent 🙄

@ATRightMovies I don’t have a gif, but some of the kids in the original ‘bad news bears’ were pretty great.
