π my #roblox take on slither is available here! https://t.co/YUEV1uCQCz
i'm constantly updating and tweaking the game, so feel free to reply w/ thoughts or feedback. there's no monetisation, but if you'd like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee through the game's UI β
completely using our own snake physics systems now! it's been a nightmare haha.
i cut the network load per snake down dramatically, added client-side prediction, and the controls are MUCH more responsive now.
here's a gif with the springiness cranked up:
@BlahajStealer@PanBarrier@asimo3089 it's all about making what you need, not adhering to 'clean code' specs :>
it's very easy to just create a script that stores a table. it's easy to tweak, and doesn't require ser/des.
you could parse json data, but that's cumbersome without external tooling on roblox.
lil design insight: if you let the match play out while players are in menus, they'll know what to expect before even spawning in.
totally something i picked up on from littensy's slither game, its super well done!

hi! how it's looking now :P
- drag-to-move controls + animated boost
- spatial partitioning for fast collision checks
- 12+ unlockable skins
btw fully unmonetised, just a fun project i wanted to make

coming back after a big break from making anything on this platform, and this stuff really hurts to see. i can barely get any players in to test project.
i'm glad roblox is putting their foot down *finally*, but this is a huge kick in the guts for us small guys.
Itβs gone up by 10 π
Despite being up 10,000 visits
and btw, βHighly engaged playersβ are based on their platform stats, so your game stats have no impact
