those ‘first in my bloodline’ tweets ranging from the first to leave a toxic marriage, the first to graduate, the first to travel, the first to be openly lesbian, our mothers and their mothers endured so much so we could have options. i’m proud we’re not taking that for granted.
really love how Fantasia has been in her fairytale love era over the last decade
because them years prior seemed rough AF
she deserves joy and I'm really rooting for her continued happiness
🕯️ SAY HIS NAME • REST IN PEACE 🕯️
Today we are holding space for Abel Mwansa Jr., 12, whose life was taken in the tragic school shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada on February 10, 2026.
Abel had just started seventh grade. He was looking forward to turning 13 next month. A milestone birthday he should have been counting down to.
He was a son deeply loved.
His mother shared through heartbreak:
“My son, I treasured the moment I spent with you. You were a great son and still remain a great one to me. This cut is the deepest.”
His father wrote about seeing Abel leave the house with a beautiful smile on his way to school, seeing in him a bright future ahead.
Abel was not a headline.
He was not a statistic.
He was a child with dreams, a family who adored him, and a future that should still be unfolding.
We are choosing to center Abel’s life and his name. And we are holding space for every family in Tumbler Ridge whose lives were forever changed on February 10, 2026.
Please join us by leaving a 🕯️ and saying “Abel” in the comments so his name remains visible and remembered.
Rest peacefully, Abel.
You were loved. You mattered. You will never be forgotten.

@Sweeegu lol they are both from the north (partly, for the first Maryam..half Igbo, half Hausa)
heard it was a popular name for northern women in their era
this was my take too when i first saw it, but later I wondered if the events of the day were actually reality, but with the dead character's supernatural presence
the scene in the abandoned amusement park where the old security man talks to that character like he knows he's a spirit makes me wonder (amongst other moments here and there)

BECAUSE youre a guy who works in tech, who builds AI, and who writes a newsletter and Ben Affleck is a CREATIVE AND A STORYTELLER and THATS EXACTLY how we know that AI CANT REPLACE WRITERS and create what you THINK it can. Jesus, do you get it now???
We’re still raving about the Enugu Homecoming film. Almost 30K views in less than a week and people keep sharing it.

This is such a fascinating conversation because, as a Kenyan, I’m obsessed with Nigeria's sartorial culture. Nigerian girlies have a fantastic sense of style. In my experience, the best-dressed woman in a room is more often than not a Nigerian.
this is so true
realized that the period my hair grew like crazy, I used to go to a professional salon like once a week, unfailingly
constant hydration and the scalp massages (scientifically proven to grow hair hair) from washing that often plus consistent treatment = GROWTH
