People don't grasp how cathartic an Arsenal title win would be for the sport of football; it would be the triumph of a pure project. A real process. A legally built revival. It would be a genuine story of sporting meritocracy standing against the sportswashing nations.
This, simply, is what frustrates the life out of fans
A blatant 2nd yellow isn’t given, and the head of PGMOL himself defends it under the justification of “not wanting to have a negative impact on the game” (something not written into the rules)
But then the softest 2nd yellow you could possibly imagine gets given against the very same team
The only rationale for fans is to assume that for certain teams, sending a player off is a bad thing, and for other teams, sending a player off simply has to be done
To be fair, you have to take your hat off to City.
They've become the dominant force in English football and all it took was completely ignoring the league's financial rules for a decade.
Be thankful Arsenal are pushing City to the wire.
Be thankful it isn’t JUST City in this all alone with no one seriously challenging.
Arsenal are a blessing to the whole Premier League.
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in North London now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That laughed with us upon Saint Totteringham’s Day.
Disappointing for Spurs fans today, but at least they'll always have the night they sung Robbie Williams in the stands after sealing the title by beating 9 men Liverpool.
