Persian saying:
"Saying halwâ (a traditional thick sweet paste) won´t make your mouth sweet" ( با حلوا حلوا گفتن دهن شیرین نمیشه “ "bâ halwâ halwâ goftan dahan shirin namishe").
It means wishes not always come true. Do not mistake your desires with reality.
@padarjaan1 @danyalbabaa She is neither Uzbek nor Tajik, but a Bukhara Jew, they speaks Persian
Unfortunately, we do not know the exact number of Tajiks in Uzbekistan or Afghanistan
https://t.co/wHoydjSf93
@xurosoni @mankhurasanam @boredafghan There are only 5 countries in the world that have never had a census. Two of them, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, have the largest Tajik population outside of Tajikistan. For some reason, these two countries do not want to know the percentage of their Tajik population. wHy❓❓❓
The Persian word for "commander" is "farmândeh" (فرمانده). But in Afghanistan´s Persian dialects we use mostly "qumandân" (قومندان) which is a loanword from English language.
The word "commander" comes from Old French "cumandeur", "commandant" in Modern French.
"Why Do People in Afghanistan Object to Taliban Rule?"
Excellent article written by my friends @ZalNishat and @ShairaKarimi where they explain the reasons why the people of Afghanistan reject Talibanism and the tribal essence of this terrorist ideology.

The leaf motifs of the 1200 years old Samanid mosque of Balkh ("Noh Gunbâd") in northern Afghanistan are astonishing.
The interior of this mosque was once covered in pigments made from lapiz-lazuli from Badakhshân.
Pictures by Robert Nickelsberg.

@HakeemNaim1 It is important to note that "Aryanism" was used by Pashtun historians to construct an identity, which is how it found its way into Afghanistan in the first place. The argument of higher dangerousness is at odds with Tajik historiography & ethnogenesis
https://t.co/3xWHrSzOKJ
@tlandofsunrise @BiruniKhorasan Interesting side note: Until the early 20th century, most Pashtuns believed they were descended from the "lost tribes of Israel" who had migrated to this region. This changed after the Nazis came to power in Germany and the Pashtuns' desire to be indigenous and thus "Aryan"

In 1994, Taliban appeared on the political scene of #Afghanistan & 28 years later their ideology is understood through their masters & their own narrative. This has to change now. Here is a serious attempt by my co-authors & me.

@writerroya Why do Afghan Pashtuns cling to an extremely puritanical definition of Islam that leaves little to no room for cultural identity and expression? I think we all know why
@writerroya There is no doubt about that, but the Pashtuns will never question this for good reasons. It will be difficult to impossible to define an identity outside this artificial colonial framework

@BiruniKhorasan "Afghan" is much older (a savage tribe of unknown origin), but Pashtun would have made more sense. Both terms are still derogatory, but at least the ethnogenesis of the Pashtuns is more comprehensible.
