Lost in Milan Fashion Week! An amazing runway show inspired by Chinese language characters made a splash at Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026.
Drawing inspiration from Chinese symbolism, the Italian designer Francesca Liberatore has ingeniously integrated ancient oracle bone characters like water, mountain, heart and rain into fashion through geometric abstraction and deconstruction.
This breathes new life into 3,000-year-old oracle bone scripts on clothing and accessories. Li Qunlai, head of Longjia Chinese School in Italy, said the cross-disciplinary fusion has birthed a new "Chinese + Design" educational model. Through cultural creativity, fashion and digital interaction, Chinese language learners can experience the allure of characters in a culturally immersive way. From the classroom to the runway, "Chinese +" is making its vibrant mark on the world stage.
