It compares the amount of dislikes it detects, compares to the views on the video and then give an estimated average amount of dislikes. Hence pushing up the average. It’s not 1 to 1.

Positive/neutral videos tend to be pretty accurate but 'review bombed' videos tend to be overrepresented as people with the extension are more likely to dislike.

As soon as a video starts getting 'review bombed' the dislikes tend to get wildly overstated through the extension as people who have the extension tend to dislike more thus overrepresenting the data.
