Since we last logged into Twitter towards the end of February this year, to announce #FlashMQ version 1.10.0 there has been a stead trickle of releases, and we've now arrived at version 1.17.1 already.

Notable new features in this release are: support for per-listener override of `allow_anonymous`, and various new `$SYS` topics to allow administrators to identify performance problems stemming from overly broad topic subscription (by, for example, subscribing to `#`).

New FlashMQ 1.8.0 feature 2/3: It is now possible to alter your listener configuration on the fly with a config reload. The previous listeners are replaced with the new ones as defined in the configuration file. Existing clients are unaffected by the reload.

New FlashMQ 1.8.0 feature 3/3: FlashMQ now listens to signal SIGUSR2. When received (with kill) it calls malloc_trim(0) to give this memory back to the operating system.
