Someone needs to ask them why they didn’t take the plea deal. There are rumors that manslaughter was offered to him for considerably less time.

I can’t imagine that any competent attorney recommended they take this case to trial knowing damn well it was impossible to win and subjecting him to a M1 conviction.

I don’t wanna believe they were gambling with their son’s livelihood for more donations but that’s certainly what it looks like.
