All this fear about a Canadian passport if Alberta Separates...
People have already forgetten the Canadian Citizenship Act!
Citizenship by descent is granted automatically to anyone with a Canadian parent thanks to Bill C-3 passed Dec 2025, even further back for those born before Dec 15, 2025.
Family members remaining in Canada after Alberta separates, their Alberta born relatives or descendants can still retain or claim full Canadian citizenship and passports no provincial border changes that.
Canada would have to actively amend the Act to revoke it. Would they do this for only Alberta? Doubtful!
Additionally Canadian dual citizenship is already allowed with every single country on earth.
Legal experts can speculate, but the Act itself doesn’t tie citizenship to staying in specific provinces.
Enough of this BS fearmongering...
@Martyupnorth@happyfinko Isn’t it amazing how the federalists can come up with a number of $400 billion overnight for Alberta to become independent yet months later we can’t get an answer from them as to how much CPP Ottawa would owe Alberta if we started our own pension plan.
🤔
If Alberta stopped sending any money to Ottawa tomorrow... within weeks you'd find out just how much of the so-called federal services we finance.
Ottawa is broke.
The start-up costs of an independent Alberta are nowhere near $400 billion.
Do we need embassies in every country the day after independence?
How are is it to print our own passports? We already have the facilities.
Do we really need Alberta Posts, or can we contract that out to a private organization?
Are border points along the SK, BC and YT urgent? We can quickly staff the ones along the USA border with our own people.
Our courts are sufficient.
We can get someone to physically print some money for us, and back it with the Alberta treasury, or we can just adopt another currency for the short term.
We can net out our share of the debt, with the $300 billion that the CPP Fund owes us.
OAS continues unchanged for anyone already collecting it.
EI takes a month to implement.
It's all fear-mongering. Our ancestors started out with nothing, and built this province. We can do this.
I wonder how much the taxpayers of Taber will appreciate their mayor and council blowing money on legal bills fighting against legal advertising?
And yes, we are fighting this.
And yes, we will win.
No level of government can ban authorized political ads.
In case you didn't know.
After getting 61.7% support on the 2021 referendum for removing equalization from the constitution, this is what Premier Jason Kenney did.
First, he wrote a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asking for a meeting about the results.
The response was "No."
Next, he wrote a letter to the First Ministers asking for a meeting about the results.
The response was "No."
Finally, Kenney gave up.
This is the leadership that Kenney offered to Albertans who trusted him.
Now he's asking us to "Lead, not Leave" when the truth is Albertans cannot fix the Canadian system. We have tried. It's time we "Lead, and Leave."
The claim that Alberta’s oil belongs to Canada is false.
Alberta gained control of its Crown lands, mines, minerals, and royalties in 1930.
Save this image somewhere handy for the next time a federalist tries to claim Alberta doesn’t own its oil.
"Indigenous Peoples have been stewards of the lands and waters in Canada since time immemorial."
Today, they are helping shape Canada’s future by... [checks notes] running casinos, clear-cutting treaty lands for development, operating massive garbage dumps on reserves, demanding endless taxpayer billions while exercizing shockingly little tranparancy and governance.
This National Indigenous History Month, we honour the romantic fiction that one group of humans magically floated above human nature for 15,000+ years while everyone else was busy being flawed.
First Nations, Inuit, and Métis are people... exactly like you and me. Not supernatural keepers of the land. Not inherently greener. Not morally pristine custodians exempt from criticism.
Enough of this bullshit.
Send the video to everyone you know showing how heinously Nowak was treated by the police in his dying moments and how the police cravenly kowtowed to his murderer.
Legacy mainstream media, same ones who wrote about George Floyd millions of times, are dead silent about Nowak.
BREAKING 🚨
Premier Smith says "transition costs for an independent Alberta could be as much as $400 billion."
2 studies have already been done. The London School of Economics says…
"In the Canada-Quebec case, cost estimates of institutional restructuring ranged from .40% to 1% of GDP."
https://t.co/b5RDtMrD1r
The Scotland independence debate is the most thoroughly researched modern case of a wealthy, developed region contemplating separation from a larger federation.
Professor Patrick Dunleavy of the LSE concluded that Scotland's voters could be relatively sure that total transition costs over a decade would lie in a restricted range, from 0.4% of GDP up to a maximum of 1.1%.
https://t.co/x3BeKQFIoq
Alberta's GDP is approximately $473.9 billion CAD (2024). Applying the research range directly:
0.4% of GDP = $1.9 Billion
1.0% of GDP = $4.7 Billion
1.1% of GDP = $5.2 Billion
@ABDanielleSmith is fibbing again!!
“B0mb.” Really?! That is the most appropriate language to use?
Reminder: government has no money of its own. It is all the public’s money. If the public wants to spend it frivolously it should be allowed, especially since the government does it all the time!
It is also a bit rich to hear public officials and state-sponsored commentators lecture citizens about taxpayer spending while dismissing legitimate public concerns, particularly when their own salaries and positions are funded by the very people they are criticizing.
I don't think she's a Nazi. But her grandfather was and she did invite a real Nazi to Parliament.
She's no Zionist. Her party heaped so much praise on Hamas they got a thank-you video(!)
This is awful, but then again she calls anyone who disagrees with her a Putin stooge.
I’ve spent most of my life trying to understand why the Liberals treat Quebec with so much respect, when they don’t ever stop threatening to leave Canada. The answer is obvious though now; it’s the 78 federal seats they can’t afford to lose and it’s the 37 seats in Alberta that they know they will lose.
There’s nothing extreme about Albertans asking a simple question:
Should Alberta be governed by Albertans, or by politicians in Ottawa?
October 19 matters.
When you realize one of Ghislaine Maxwell's sisters owns the data mining software that's being used by the government & the other is a technology pioneer for the World Economic Forum, it starts to make a lot more sense as to why no one on Epstein's client list has been arrested.
I will not participate in First Nation land acknowledgements going forward as I feel the Liberal Party of Canada conned Canadians into believing it was politeness and now it looks like land property rights sacrifice! New World Order dogma being forced on Canadians!
I couldn't care less what Manitoba does, what Nova Scotia does, what Quebec does, etc. etc.
Why do they care so much about what Alberta does?
Oh right, Albertans pay for their welfare.
