Co-CEO Scott Mann broke down the data behind TrueSync at MIT Technology Review's EmTech.

An editor makes a scene funnier. Everyone loves it. Then he mentions AI – and the fix gets pulled.
This is what happened to the wonderful Nigel Williams, editor of The Office and Derry Girls, who went public about it in Deadline this week. Almost everyone working seriously with assistive AI in post has a version of this story.
The problem isn't the technology. It's that the industry has never had a proper chance to understand what assistive AI actually is – because the conversation gets swallowed by fear of what people think it might be.
Assistive AI starts with the human performance and serves it. It doesn't generate new performances or replace creative work – it helps filmmakers honour what's already there. Performer consent is built in. Outputs are fully copyrightable. Rights are owned by the studio.
That's a completely different thing from generative AI. And the industry deserves to know the difference.

Recently Co-CEO @scottymann took to the stage at @MIT@techreview's #EmTechAI event.
During his presentation, he drew a line between assistive AI and generative AI.
"One is a tool, and one is trying to imitate and synthesize. They're very different things. Hollywood has done best when it's utilized technology to tell story as an artist tool."
The fear that AI will replace human artistry is earned. Models trained on borrowed work, without consent and without rights, have given Hollywood every reason to push back.
But this year at @Festival_Cannes, @Flawlessai are bringing the answer. Licensed. Consented. Fully human.
See you there.

The conversation around AI in Hollywood is often framed as protection versus progress.
At @MIT@techreview#EmTechAI event, Flawless Co-CEO Scott Mann suggested that's the wrong perspective.
The decline in productions, the retreat to sequels, the contraction - is not AI's fault. It's the cost of risk. And the question nobody's asking loudly enough is: what happens to the industry when that risk comes down?
More stories. More films. More jobs. Growth, not just survival.
Watch the clip...and then watch this space.
We have something to say at #Cannes2026.

Recently Flawless Co-CEO Scott Mann took to the stage at the @MIT@techreview#EmTechAI event.
During his presentation, he made a vitally important distinction - and one that will have a crucial impact on Hollywood.
"Generative AI is taking a mass pool of stolen data - trillions of dollars' worth of filmed material, millions of artists and then a text prompt generates a clip from that. Assistive AI is different. It's licensed. It's agreed...It enhances."
Hollywood's frustration with AI is legitimate. What's been built in the dark, on borrowed material, without permission - it deserves every bit of the backlash it's getting.
But this year in Cannes, Flawless are proposing a new way forward. One that answers the crucial questions posed by Producers, Guilds, Studios, and Artists.
More to come. See you on the Croisette.

We're proud that Flawless has been named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2026 – ranked #5 in Film & Television, and the leading AI company on the list.
This recognition reflects something we've believed from the start: the film and TV industry deserves AI that works *for* it – not against it.
While much of the AI conversation has centred on replacement, we've stayed focused on a different model for AI in cinema.
Built in close collaboration with guilds, unions, and studios, TrueSync™ and DeepEditor™ are designed to:
→ protect artistic rights
→ honour real performances
→ preserve human authorship
That's what pioneering assistive AI actually means.
Thank you to Fast Company for this honor – and to every filmmaker, partner, and collaborator who has helped shape what Flawless is becoming.
We’re excited to share our latest case study on Playdate – the action comedy starring Isla Fisher, Alan Ritchson, and Kevin James.
Late in post production, the film hit an unexpected challenge. Five lines of dialogue were putting the PG-13 rating at risk, with no opportunity to return to set. The team turned to Flawless’ DeepEditor.
Using the tool, they updated the lines while preserving the original performances on screen. Subtle but vital changes that kept director Luke Greenfield’s vision intact.
The result was a PG-13 rating, helping Playdate go on to debut as the most-watched title on Prime Video across 46 countries.
Our thanks to producer Jason Benoit for sharing his experience so openly as part of this case study. His perspective on protecting performance and creative intent speaks to what assistive AI can do when it’s built to serve filmmakers.

"A transformative advance in localization that preserves actor intent and emotional nuance, dramatically raising the bar for global distribution."
We're excited to see Flawless named among Media Play News' "Smart Moves: 20 Game-Changing Uses of AI in Digital Entertainment".
This accolade reflects a broader industry shift toward AI technologies that prioritize credibility over novelty. As global distribution accelerates, the most impactful innovations are those that replace inefficiency while protecting the human elements that define storytelling.
Thank you to Media Play News for this recognition.
