With snowy weather, lots of illness and lots of activities going on in December, what are the ways in which your employer enables you to work flexibly around this?
@InnovationMatt This still puts the onus on staff requesting, we are keen to go further and see roles advertised as flexible by default.
And thanks as ever for the support 👏
Well this sounds an awesome place to work, check out this role
‘We are a flexible employer – committed to adapting how we work to allow employees to thrive inside and outside of work’ 🙌
We keep hearing about a recruitment crisis…but also hearing from candidates crying out for roles 🤔
So if you have a genuine #FlexibleFirst job advert, tag us in and we are happy to share and play match maker
Anyone got any great examples of charities that used to be default 9-5 in a London office and are now #FlexibleFirst in their approach?
We want to show the doubters that culture can change 🙌
Genuine question - why is the default for so many London based charities still office based or hybrid (needing to be in London 2-3 days a week)?
What are the barriers to charities taking a #FlexibleFirst approach, where the role could be done office OR remote based OR hybrid?
@FlexibleFirst@grntimaginarium More often than not it’s trustees still not getting remote working. Also, the correlation between not going full hybrid and ‘we just signed up to a 3 year rental agreement and refurbed the office in 2020 at great expense’ is fairly significant
@FlexibleFirst Gonna go with having to pay rent anyway so why not fill the office to make that feel worthwhile, valuing presentism, the lack of understanding/fear from changing working practises, and disbelief that relationships/culture/performance management can be done well remotely…🤷♀️
Thought provoking thread. I know many of you have been pushing and celebrating sharing of interview questions…but is this causing different issues?
Any thoughts @InnovationMatt @JoFundraising and other flexible working pros?
Question for charities recruiting where interview questions are shared in advance. Very pro this being done. Keen to know is this done only in a supportive way for interviewees or is there any expectation for this to become part of interview prep to come ready with best answers?
We often hear organisations want to try flexible working, but aren't sure how to facilitate it. We love to see organisations trying new ways to create the culture - here's one example being trialled at @RNID
When is flexible not flexible?
Jobs are increasing being flagged to us as being advertised as flexible but with hidden barriers. Have you experienced this?
