State FFA Convention; Day 2: What a great morning it was as we watched three of our best be recognized as State Champions on stage. Words can’t describe the work and dedication these members put forth to reach their goals. Super proud!
Day 1 of the 2026 State FFA Convention is in the books. We were inspired to “Find a Way” during Session 1, spent some time in the Trade Show and Expo Hall and then toured the MALC (Multi-species Animal Learning Center) at Ohio State. Couple of the girls met a really friendly cow.
STATE CHAMPION! Congratulations to Madison as she finishes 1st in the 2026 Ohio FFA Vet Science Contest out of 947 contestants. Hard work, dedication, and pride has paid off again! Well done Madison.
Our Dairy Judging team made the trip to Columbus today for the state prelims. They evaluated 6 classes of cows and heifers and ranked them off performance traits and structure.
This past week AFNR students continued with their Animal Health unit by experiencing injections. After lessons on the various syringe and needle styles students practiced simulated sub-Q and IM injections.
Our Diary Judging Team had a fine outing on Wednesday placing 5th out of 33 teams at the Indian Lake Invitational. Olivia led the team and placed 7th out of 237 individuals. Keep working hard as the state prelims are just around the corner.
Results from Indian Lake General Livestock Judging has been posted and our team had a really good day placing 11th out of 75 teams. Special shout-out to Lila as she placed 1st out of 585 contestants! Well done everybody!
The Dairy Judging and General Livestock Judging teams traveled to the Logan County Fairgrounds this morning to compete in the Indian Lake Invitational. Even Mother Nature couldn’t slow this group down.
Sam, Wyatt, and Zander competed in the Ag Mechanics Skills Contest this morning on the main campus of UVCC. They worked through 17 stations including electrical, welding, flaring, tool ID, and much more.
What makes FFA great? Easy, the members! Just over 1 million strong throughout the US, just shy of 31K in Ohio, and somehow we’re blessed to have 70 of the absolute BEST! To close out our FFA week our members enjoyed a baked potato bar.
