I think about this every day. In the Netherlands, if a person dies alone, without any family or friends as mourners, a poet will be sent to write a poem and read it at the burial service. It's called the Lonely Funeral Project, and it's just humans being good humans.
@NyamburaGobela Naona tuko wengi wa 'one who has carried their own water know the value of every drop' woi! Don't my arms, back and feet have water fetching tales!
Also made some 'by the way' Banana breads which I even forgot to add vanilla for that extra flavourful kick yet the bottle was right there on the kitchen counter! hehe! They were all good though. 😋
The Rock Buns were so yum!! Was surprised how light they turned out given that I switched my recipe abit to use Rye flour + APF.
...as it's said, Butter makes everything better! The fat in dough was all butter.
Gave me the satisfaction I craved.
@NyamburaGobela It's a simple recipe though today I switched it up a bit to include 1:1 ratio on APF to Rye flour. Had prepared the flour 150g APF 150g Rye,3tsp baking powder and 1/2tsp salt - mixed and sieved together
Can also use self raising but add about 1/4tsp BP to boost abit
@NyamburaGobela For pictorial ref on results:
Also, that small bowl with egg mixture, keep it aside ad you mix. After putting the rock buns scoops on baking tray, add a little milk + sugar into that bowl with egg residue, brush on the tops to have a glossy baked rock buns. Also ok w/o the glaze.
@NyamburaGobela *Forgot to say you preheat oven to 200° while about to mix*well, I usually preheat it when about to scoop the dough 2 tray
Bake for about 20mins
This recipe gives 9 rock buns - large spoonful scoops. If smaller reduce baking time.
Should result in slightly browned baked. Enjoy!
Soon, I'll start making cookies and keeping in jars so that I have constant snacks...but be strict on self, that they are not every day munchies, but for times when there's nothing else to eat.
