Canxium Bridge: The Safest Crypto Bridge 🛟

Building a bridge between Canxium and Ethereum is an extremely difficult task, as many hacks have occurred on supposedly impregnable bridges like Ronin and Binance, causing billions of dollars in losses. However, we have found a new solution that will be the safest bridge available today.

Normal centralized* bridges focus on protecting one or a group of private keys responsible for transporting assets between two blockchains. These private keys are very vulnerable when they must be deployed in an online environment, so it is very vulnerable to targeted attacks. With Canxium Bridge, we understand this weakness and offer a new solution that is much simpler and more secure. It is a combination of three different types of permissions, two of which are operated by cold wallets.

First type: Operator - This is a type of authority that has only one job, which is to monitor asset transfer events from this chain, then send a transaction with information about the transferred assets to target blockchain. This type must be operated by a hot wallet.

After the operator sends the asset information escrow transaction to the destination chain, the user can claim the asset after this transaction is confirmed by at least 10 blocks.

Second type: Guarder - This is a type of authority operated by a cold wallet, whose only task is to monitor the operator's actions, if the operator is found to have suspicious and inappropriate actions or transactions. Guarder will immediately stop all smart contract operations through a transaction pre-signed by the cold wallet. Since users have to wait at least 10 blocks to claim assets, the guard has a maximum of 9 blocks to send the transaction to stop the contract on the network - this is more than enough time to prevent any invalid activity by Operator. Because Guarder is operated by a cold wallet, all Guarder's transactions are already signed and prepared in an offline environment, so private key exposure is impossible.

3rd type: Admin - This is the highest authority operated by the cold wallet, with full authority to cancel all transactions that the operator has made if Guarder detects and stops the contract. In addition, only the Admin has the right to allow the contract to operate again after cleaning up invalid data and replacing a new operator when the old operator has been attacked.

Although this type of design has the disadvantage of doubling the cost of transporting assets, in return the safety is nearly absolute, as Guarder will be deployed on dozens of different server names and cancel all login permisions, it is impossible to attack the entire server to take over the guard to prevent it from sending transactions to pause the contract. Besides, the operator only has the right to use 30 percent of the assets. If he want to use more, he must have permission from the Admin, this helps reduce damage when an attack occurs.
