A new report also mentions next #Battlefield's campaign is in a "dire state" with just "6 hours long" and may even release unfinished (in the form of DLC) or in a rough state at launch unless "a ton of work goes into it this summer and the remainder of 2025."
The report claims that as of May 2025, the only part of the gameย notย passing gate three was the campaign because of "many discrepancies remaining."
It's said it was initially developed by the now shuttered Ridgeline Games but was passed along to other teams like EA Motive and Criterion. https://t.co/ahcAP5QKiT
REPORT: Ars Technica claims sources close to the upcoming #Battlefield title have reported the project has faced "culture clashes, ballooning budgets, and major disruptions" that have left many team members "fearful" that parts of the game will not be finished to players' satisfaction in time for launch during EA's fiscal year - before April 2026.
According to these first-hand accounts, the changes have led to "extraordinary stress and long hours" with people burning out and needing to take leave.
It's said that EA leadership has also made "major structural and cultural changes" to how #Battlefield games are created to ensure it can release "titles of unprecedented scope and scale" as they want to hit 100 million players with the next game.
