So the vaguely titled UOA "academic" (Dr David Cumin) in the @NZStuffPolitics article on the free speech coalition is a MEDICAL RESEARCHER. I look forward to reporters citing @PoliAuckland academics in future for their expert views on heart disease
Has there be a time in history when citizens *overreacted* to encroaching fascism in their government? The dangers of caution and skepticism about Trump's cruelty right now seem far greater than the dangers of overreaction, but I'm prepared to be told i'm wrong.
In light of the "clever" theories about stuff in #InfinityWar war that was not even sub textual it was right there in the text I propose the following changes to the "curtains were blue" meme:
media: the curtains were blue
most people: oh yea, the curtains were blue. I mean, I hadn't thought about it 'cause it was obvious? But like see there, the part where they straight up point at the curtains and say they are blue.
@jephjacques It boggles my mind how many steps there are in getting annoyed at the already pretty gay comic you read being more gay then writing and sending an email to an artist and yet at no stage did they maybe rethink what they were doing and/or their entire life
Me: regulating data use by corporations is such an important issue
Also me: ANOTHER company updating their privacy policy? Great look at me not reading this one either
#ThatAwkwardMoment when you are using your tablet to show your uni project group a super srs political vid related to an upcoming assignment and while it's playing you realise all your suggested videos on the sidebar are from the gay part of @BuzzFeed
oh but I forgot the clever political ideas: society is bad but the maverick white men will save us. surely no other show offers such cutting commentary
All of these dudes telling me the expanse is so fucking deep or some shit like no thanks mcbro the only fascinating thing about that show is that it appeared to actually weirdly stretch the plot just so it could fit even more disposable women tropes into the first episode
@existentialcoms Actually I guess him capitalising off Tesla's name makes perfect sense for someone that so perfectly encapsulates the opposite of everything pop culture liked about Tesla
@existentialcoms Like rereading eg that oatmeal comic that everyone loved years ago is hilarious because of how enthusiastically Musk has shat on everything Tesla was apparently great for and how he's definitely the Edison in the story
I usually hate people posting screencaps of someone blocking them, but Elon Musk arguing with me that he succeeded *in spite* of billions in public funding, then calling me a chimp and blocking me is too good. BTW, SpaceX launched a government funded rocket *during* these tweets.
