played ~20mins in new team's first soccer game today. This Thursday will mark six-weeks post-surgery, and the end of physical restrictions.

Medical Fun Fact: Avg 8yo mitral valve covers an opening that is 20mm in diameter. My cleft was about 1cm that was sewn back together.

Moved to my own room today, which should bring more peace and quiet. Could still use more sleep, but recovery is ahead of schedule.

Out of ICU after less than 24hrs ... Well ahead of schedule, and enjoying mashed potatoes as first solid food.

Awake and alert in ICU. Breathing tube removed, first words: "I have nothing to say." Resting comfortably, watching end of 'Snow Buddies.'

Now in ICU. Dr. Hanley repaired the valve, and my recovery prognosis remains excellent. I'll be asleep well into tonight\tomorrow.
