Advocate for better ED treatment. Gaps in research for ED & co-morbidities need closing! Disclaimer: despite my views there are MH workers I highly value
@meister6111@Shrink_at_Large This post isn’t targeting those who can only access a vehicle to do their job through a company car or salary sacrifice scheme. It’s the multi millionaires who can afford a car without needing to lower tax and NI contributions to do so.
@ajollyholiday17@Shrink_at_Large For a lot of people a motability car is the only way they can access one which is: 1) big enough to transport mobility aids; 2) an automatic which is easier to drive for those with certain disabilities; 3) an EV which can be charged at home rather than using fuel pumps
@oasis@wembleystadium@TicketmasterUK@TicketmasterCS what about accessible tickets. These were only sold through Wembley’s accessible phone line for the main sale - not everyone could get through despite calling 100s/1000s of times. How’s that ballot working/are we expected to call endlessly again?
@TicketmasterCS@Zinzsaini So no ballot system for accessible tickets - how is that fair. Going to have a repeat of the last sale and endlessly pressing re-dial. There are no details on the Wembley site specific to getting accessible tickets to the new dates
There is no such thing as “a sick note culture.” There is a record high NHS waiting list, crippling housing costs, widespread food poverty, stagnant wages and inadequate benefit rates, a broken social care system, dire mental health services, and closed Sure Start centres.
@AnorexiaMyths@NewFoundWings Absolutely agree!! Unfortunately they are following the NICE guidelines based on the false assumption that short admission = better outcome is a causal relationship, rather than the possibility that those who are ‘safe’ to discharge sooner have a different aetiology 🤷🏻♀️
ED team: “We’re recognise that your #autism diagnosis means we need to work collaboratively on treatment”
Also ED team: “We’re not willing to adapt our day program or listen to any of your suggestions”
So much for #AutismAcceptanceDay & reasonable adjustments
#mentalhealth
@OonaHanson @RappaportPhD Absolutely agree! Especially when CMHT & IAPT services won’t (or are very reluctant to) get involved in care of an ED patient saying “ED is the main issue” but ED services won’t treat anything other than ED symptoms - then they wonder why ED has such poor outcomes 🙄
@jamesldowns CBT can be very structured & visual (using flow charts/spider diagrams/tables) & is logical -all things my autistic brain likes. But these benefits are lost if the person delivering isn’t willing to adapt/take longer working on formulations to give a deeper understanding of self
@MoominFace Being able to give yourself space if you need it. Not being afraid to ask for help. To me these things suggest recovery as they mean not unnecessarily putting my self through something that might lead to destructive behaviour or harm later down the line
@clarab21743099@anna_rebowska@sarafinlayson @FishMcFace @AnorexiaMyths What are the chances she was actually autistic?! So many misdiagnosed and misunderstood! My best friend with complex ED died after a MH trusts insistence on PD diagnoses meant no IP unit would take her - stuck for 5 years & lost all hope despite wanting to live
@bmstores@becs3jobs Also wondering why Pet cooling mat from @bmstores has a thick layer of black mould inside the box?! No wonder my pups eyes have been gunky (box stored near his crate). Don't live near a B&M, so contacted customer service who were useless. Very disappointed
