Happy Friday!
June portfolio update is now available
- 666% return since 2022
- Exit gold stocks
- Still like my stocks :-)
My brother said my Twitter name is pretty ridiculous...
So, I doubled down and bought the domain through @namesilo

@637_721@BerkelKip I don't own it, but they do better each year the Polish economy improves because
1. Revenue is in pln vs costs in eur/usd
2. Disposable income increases
And that economy has done well for a very long time.
My longshot bet:
3/
- Berkshire invests in Alphabet
- Alphabet raises additional money
- Berkshire Energy + Alphabet form JV to build a nuclear plant
- Alphabet buys JV power output to fuel compute
- Compute used to enable self-driving (Waymo)
- Berkshire (historic car insurance investor) has been watching Waymo & understands how far ahead they are... => Sees this as big opportunity
@tomppajo@evfcfaddict Yeah, something like that. I was thinking Anthropic but puked into my mouth of how gross that would be while working on Gemini...
Hi Andy, from my work with CEO's of various companies, I'm ~100% sure they don't think that way. This is how investors think, it's not how C-level or even boards think.
I think it's much more likely that they raise the money for a specific goal, for example accelerated roll out of Waymo, or securing compute, or investing in TPU capacity.
Hopefully it's not to be the first company to pay a $10B signing bonus for hiring a new AI developer... But they do this for such kind of operational/strategic reason...
Something where you talk to an AI instead of move your arm to drag boxes across the screen by means of an optical mouse...
Microsoft has too much to unlearn to invent it. Anthropic/Alphabet might be the architects of the new system
I'm building a presentation today and it's already 50% Claude doing it and 50% me in powerpoint. The powerpoint part is evaporating
@mirror_mystery Like there's also Coinbase in there. I don't have anything against crypto, but index investors owning a centralised entity with the goal of enabling defi token trading seems very odd.
But hey it's the index 🤭
A long term investor with $100k in the S&P500 right now, has made $1060 from Tesla's contribution, and will see $112 allocated to SpaceX as the company raises $75B
The $1060 would have been much higher if they had added Tesla 5 years earlier
It's a non issue
The idea that SpaceX shouldn't be in the S&P500 is the most ridiculous idea ever, closely followed by the Mag7 being overvalued and high tech capex being a bad thing.
Turn off your fearful reptile brain. Everything will be fine. 😘

@themeinflection Sold it because of Iran war but think they probably do fine. Housing has been so bad for so long that specifically targeted stimulus is likely to continue if rates stay high.
@pmul1234 It's a passive large cap index so should include the most important companies. The people arguing against it are the same that argued against adding Tesla in 2017
