“Suspicious Minds” is a cover of Elvis Presley’s 1969 classic, recorded by Fine Young Cannibals for their 1985 self-titled debut album. The soulful new wave interpretation showcased the band's distinctive blend of pop, rock, and soul, offering a fresh take on one of Elvis's signature hits.

Although it wasn't a major international hit, the single helped establish Fine Young Cannibals as a promising new British band. Roland Gift's unmistakable falsetto gave the song a completely different character from the original, foreshadowing the unique sound that would later propel the band to worldwide success with "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing." The performance also caught the attention of director Barry Levinson, who cast Gift in the 1987 film Tin Men, giving him early exposure as both a musician and an actor before the band's global breakthrough.
