@pinstripedline@OverclockersUK Not sure if they use DPD as they're local to me, but my last two machines have been from https://t.co/rNUwiuikTD and they've been great
@WeHaveWaysPod@almurray@James1940 Why does the East Africa campaign get so little coverage in the story of WW2 despite being full of interesting stories and pretty epic successes for the Allies?
@thinkdefence A big chunk of this can be understood far better by a broad range of campaign level Operational Analysis to provide actual evidence to decision makers rather than opinions and feelings.
@thinkdefence Get @dstlmod to come and give a day long brief on the warts snd all results of Strategic Force Development from the past decade or so, and then try to act on the results in detail...
@Stu_Lyle@SebastianBae@MtarfaL@BarrickTim John Lennons less successful follow up to Imagine :)
To be honest, quite a lot of the time I want more analysis, modelling and simulation, and less wargaming. But then I think that might be because whilst playing wargames is fun, organising and running them is painful!
@Stu_Lyle@SebastianBae@MtarfaL@BarrickTim Hmm, sometimes I like my players to turn up not having done it before, so at least I can avoid the "I didn't like Big Wargame 8 cos it didnt show my capability off in the way I wanted, so I think Big Wargame 9 will be shit too" syndrome...
@Stu_Lyle@MtarfaL@SebastianBae@BarrickTim "Safe space to fail" is in the heart of all my pre-wargame briefs. Doesn't always land though...
Multi-level games are super hard to get right. Generally I think its better to do the levels separately and well, and link the findings together with proper analysis.
@WarOnTheRocks @SMonaghanCSIS Great article Sean. I would argue though that the US Army heavy forces don't have much skin in the Pacific game, so European forces development could concentrate on the shortfall in strat enablers that a US Pacific focus would drive in getting them here fast and fighting
