I believe that most people would be better off making Traditional contributions instead of Roth.

Some exceptions:

1. People making too much to be eligible for the tax deduction

2. Retired people (Roth conversion time!)

3. Students working part time

PSA: Roth accounts are not tax free.

When you choose to put money into a Roth, you are choosing to pay your marginal (i.e. highest) income tax rate up front.

This is almost certainly not the best move to make if you're eligible for Traditional (tax deferred) contributions.

TBD for Daybreak 2. Might look into fan TL, but for 1 I think it didn't play well with some of the NISA PC technical changes, which are quite good.

Whether someone is working or not is pretty black and white when you're an employee with business hours.

And the president being the one making the calls obviously makes more sense than letting millions of bureaucrats decide for themselves.
