TLDR: Look for an active community, engaged by the idea / narrative behind the collection. If you're not resonating with the storyline then you should probably avoid it. And you need to search for utility, what are the tokens used for? Hope this helps
What creates value in #NFT collections?
Because of the buzz in the #NFT space a lot of scammers are creating projects with no value. If you've been around during 2017 during the ICO frenzy then this is not new to you.
Here's a thread on how to analyse a project π§΅
7/ Utility: What the NFTs are being used for? What are you supporting? It can be a game, a private social club access, memberships. But a general rule of thumb for todayβs projects is if thereβs no utility then itβs most probably a rug pull.
6/ Narratives: this is the story built around the collection, this is one of the drivers for community building. It should be engaging and people who gather around It should be genuinely interested in it.
4/ You should get a sentiment once you explore these, and ask yourself is the community genuine or is it built for the sole role of minting and rug pulling? If all the talks are about the price after minting, how many invites to get a discount for minting etc
3/ There is no genuine interaction or community building. And usually after minting most of these servers are dead. So first thing we suggest doing is checking the social media channels.
2/ Community is one of the keys here, if you take a look at the discord channel in most of the collections today you will see an abundance of episodic members, members who are creating fake engagements and are there only to get either a free mint, WL spot or some other benefit.
In 2021/2022 scammers are flooding the space in search for a quick buck. This is why you're seeing tons of NFT collections being spammed on CT. So how to filter these out? You need to look for value
We don't restrict any NFT projects to be added on our platform, but we would definitely love to see more value for all the collections that are currently being shilled on crypto twitter
